Negative thought patterns and behaviours can often be the cause of many of our problems. Hypnotherapy works by using the phenomenon of trance to bypass the conscious mind, thus allowing direct access to the subconscious. I work closely with the client employing Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) Techniques to replace unwanted and inappropriate response patterns with healthier more appropriate responses. By bypassing the conscious intellectual mind, results can be achieved much faster than with other therapies.
Hypnosis or trance is a natural state which occurs everyday, for example when we are daydreaming, watching television, driving or performing a repetitive task. Contrary to popular belief we are in control at all times, we can come out of the trance state any time we choose to, and the subconscious will only accept suggestions that are in accordance with our own values.
